Very good, spine faded as is commonly found with green vellum, a particularly fugitive colour, internally pristine. From the family of St. John Hornby by descent.
Although not one of the very small number of copies which were illuminated by Florence Kingsford, the present copy is nonetheless a wonderful example of this elegant piece of fine printing on vellum. It exemplifies the style of the Ashendene Press, ‘a varied and beautiful work’ (Colin Franklin) in which large blue initial letters drawn by Graily Hewitt are neatly paired with titles printed in red.
