Shin Matsunaga was born in Tokyo in 1940. Having graduated from design course of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1964 he worked in the advertising division of Shiseido. In 1971 he established his own company Shin Matsunaga Design Inc. and has subsequently received numerous awards including the JAAC Special Prize, Mainichi Design Award, Gold Medal and Honour Award at the 12th International Biennale in Warsaw, and the JAAC Prize Yamana Award. The present book was published to accompany an exhibition that travelled to five museums in Japan from 1996 and 1999. Uncommon.
