Okamoto Shigeo was born in Nagoya in 1934. After graduating from the Aichi University of Education in 1954 he worked as a ceramics designer for an American firm, before founding his own design studio in 1968. By 1998 he had designed over 1000 posters 275 of which were selected for the present publication. His work is influenced by the Bauhaus movement and yet his approach is totally different from the likes of Tanaka Ikko, Hara Hiromu or Kamekura Yusaku. Includes an introduction by Nagai Kazumasa. The book was privately printed by Okamoto and it was not for sale. No copy in OCLC.
